The Conference offers a safe space for networking, exchanging information, resources, educating each other and the world about issues important to us in a format designed for Cabo Verdean women, by Cabo Verdean women.
OUR MISSION
Cabo Verdean women’s empowerment - Together we accomplish the goals of remembering our individual agency and collective strength.
“Poderoza follows in our ancestors footsteps of community activism. Poderoza is a modern-day Cabo Verdean Women's Movement that offers women a platform to have a voice, share ideas, and is an environment of sisterhood. It is a forum for us to listen, learn, and teach each other about what it means to be a Cabo Verdeana. It is a platform to grow and fight against the social, political, and cultural oppression, that is rooted in a system of misogyny that breaks women. It provides an environment of love and empowerment that supports Cabo Verdeana rights at home and in public. It shows future generations of women how to support each other with love, kindness, and respect, which are all the attributes that empower and gives us strength.”
